Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia

If you are not a fan of the series you might not know some of the things I am going to talk about here.

Again I am using the JAP trailer because JAP voice over is damn chio.

Castlevania is basically this platform game walking around killing skeletons, ghoul and a final showdown with Dracula! ( Or some other freaks depending on the story. ) One of the trademark is using the whip ( Vampire Killer )as the main weapon. See a skeleton? Whip! Ghoul? Whip! How about a flying goblin thing which has higher HP than the rest? Whip whip! Well that is basically what happened in Castlevania 1. Sounds boring eh? Back in those days its cool loh. Anyway Castlevania had evolved so much that you can do more than whipping ghoul, you can level up now, learn different skills and other stuff depending on which Castlevania you are playing.

Ehh I am suppose to talk about Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. Normally Castlevania starts off with a Belmont guy or someone related to Belmont family. This time Belmont family's power to subdue Dracula had faded and its up to the Ecclesia clan. ( Some how Dracula appear every 100 years in the game. ) Our protagonist is Shanoa a beautiful black hair girl with a bareback dress and tattoos on her back. Well Shanoa sort of use magic to attack, over the course she can absorb the enemy skill ( glyph ) and use it as her own. ( Like megaman/rockman but instead of jumping in the air and absorb the skill/weapon Shanoa turn her back and absorb it and once absorbed a new tattoo appeared [supposedly]. Damn cool la. )

The combat is fairly simple. Equip the glyph ( Up to 3 ) you want and bash the button away! Simple? NO! You need to use the right glyph for the right enemy. You can't be jumping around trying to hit the flying goblin with a sword, you need to use a flying throw axe to hit that bastard! The game is somewhat tough for beginners and Shanoa don't really run fast which can be a real pain in the ass. ( Her speed of running is like having strong wind constantly blowing against her. )

Story is straight forward but it will do. Not much had change in the grahpic compared to the previous installment of the series in DS. Overall is a fun game to accompany you through your MRT ride or waiting for friends that practise lateness.
